Planning Permission Granted for Jersey’s First Ground Mounted Solar Array

20th December 2022

IPV Flexgen is delighted to have played an important role in helping Jersey Electricity (JE) secure planning permission for the islands first ground-mounted solar farm.

The 4 MW solar array will be located at Rue du Moulin à Vent in St. Clement and will generate enough power for nearly 650 Jersey homes. The project complements the work that the Company has been carrying out to deploy commercial scale roof mounted solar.

IPV Flexgen is acting as development advisor to Jersey Electricity in progressing this and several other similar ground mounted solar projects that will help Jersey Electricity achieve a diversified energy mix and increase on-Island renewables.

The site, which will continue to be used for agriculture when the solar array is installed, takes environmental considerations heavily into account, with minimal impact on the surrounding environment and local habitats.

Working alongside IPV Flexgen, JE aims to have this first ground mounted project generating solar electricity later in the year.
